new shoes

While on vacation Rigby only had one pair of sandals. they were cute white ones that we originally purchased for her to wear at Cole and Meghan's wedding. for school the girls have to wear closed toe shoes so she only gets to sport the sandals on the weekends. well they fell apart and were looking pretty shabby. daddy and i went thrifting one day when the girls were taking a nap and we found a great little kids consignment shop. something’s were ridiculously priced but some were perfect and that week everything for summer was 50% off. we found two pairs of white sandals for $2 each then rang up for $1 each, cant beat those prices. so when i got home i went though the bins of shoes we have for Adler to grow into. i found a 1/2 dozen pairs that i could pull out and resurrect for her and she was over the moon. NEW SHOES are a sweet spot for that girl.

milk please

Adler wants to be like her big sissy in so many ways right now. lately she sees Rigby get ceral with milk and has decided that is what she wants so i give her a small bowl with a splash of milk and she does well. yea most of the milk does end up on the tray or down her front but she is getting better all the time.

what ya doin?

Adler has entered the question phase. she will ask "what ya doin?" when you are doing anything. she does not really listen to the answer so she just continues to ask the question. I know Rigby went though this phase but she shorten it to just "doin?" so i guess this is just a normal curiosity. i guess this is the pre-cursor to the damn question "why?"

Awe Man

we can blame this one all on daddy. Adler has picked up a catch phrase. she says "awe, man." the cutest part is that 90% of the time it is a totally adequate response. No more juice till dinner...."awe, man." you have to wear closed toe shoes to school today..."awe,man." ha ha ha. it is said with total 'tude and is too cute.

ice cream and play

we woke up from naps and AGAIN it is pouring. we waited for it to die down and got in the car. we wanted ice cream and ended up at the chick-fil-a. they have an indoor playground with a 2-story slide. Rigby and Adler loved it. on a few of the steps the spread was too wide so we had to teach Rigby to help Adler up by grabbing her butt and helping her sling her legs up. it was not an authentic South Carolina adventure but we got ice cream and to play how is that a bad time.

tummy troubles

I am not sure what is perplexing poor Alder's tummy so much while were are here. We are pretty consistent with her diet as we are at home. Or let me re-phrase that she is still as picky here as she is at home. she is eating chicken nuggets, hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, cheese, crackers, squeezes, bananas, corn, nuts, juice, yogurt and asundry other items. nothing is really outside her wheelhouse but my, oh my has she filled up her diapers. not once but MULTIPLE times. so much so that we have had a few incidents where it has spilled out and down her leg and she has become a pro at the stand up shower and even asks for it when she knows she has really soiled herself. this normally does not affect her mood, but just the moment till she is all squeaky clean again. rain, rain go away

so there is a local little carnival we thought we would hit one night after dinner. so we cleaned our plates we loaded in the car and drove the few blocks and parked. we all had exited the cars and gotten Adler strapped into the stroller and the skys opened and were in a torrential down pour. we got soaked. we all did our fast dance to get loaded back into the car as fast as we can. there we decided not to stay as even as the rain was lightening up the rides would all be wet. so off to ice cream. we get to a local joint that is an ice cream shack that you walk up to. well luckily they had a carport that we could hang out under as as soon as we ordered the skys opened up again. at this point it did not matter as we were pretty much all drenched.
